Bacterial Enzyme Formula
OG-22 is the result of over 20 years of research
on the effects of bacteria on decomposing organic matter. It
was learned that the odors detectable in areas such as barnyards,
compost bins, and stagnant bodies of water are caused by the
presence of undesirable bacteria. These bacteria live on the
organic matter causing decay. Decay is an inefficient form of
decomposition that releases methane, sulfur, and various other
offensive gases. Ammonia is also a common odor formed where
manure and other high nitrogen substances are present but certain
desirable bacteria are absent. In order to prevent these gaseous
odors it was discovered that the right species of bacteria are
needed. Research demonstrated that “friendly” bacteria actually
prevent decay of organic matter. Instead they allow such matter
